bFlash Update V1910D

Our latest update is here, we have added full OBD support for SIMOS 18 that many of you requested!
Simos 18.1 and 18.10 are covered. All subsequent hardware revisions of 18.1 are covered ( 18.2/3/5/6 )

The first flash takes arround 10 – 12 minutes based on the software version.
Next calibration update is under one minute varying from 45 to 55 seconds.

Extra function : Back to stock feature is available & Flashcounters are fixed after patching.

Bench protocols for Temic based TCU’s!

These new protocols allow full read and write of the Transmission Unit.
Internal flash memory, Internal EEPROM and external EEPROM can be read & written.

 

Q&A

Do I need to buy an extra bFlash module ?
Of course not! This protocol is active now, for all our active users.

 

How fast is it ?
Based on the TCU model, read times goes from 25 seconds up to 1 min 45.
Classic tuning file flash will be carried out in under 30 seconds, full cloning will be around 5 minutes.

 

How do I connect to the TCU ?
Our technical partner Chiptuningshop has developed a wide range of cable and quick adapters.
The recommended minimum is the universal TCU bench cable (GC-10001):

bTrace standard LIVE!

A new way to view AND use datalogs to help improve your overall quality while working on that bespoke tuning file!

bTrace Standard allows you to view live or replay log data in WinOLS. Accessible from bLog, bTrace Standard is compatible with all available logging protocols.

To link your bFlash to WinOLS the OLS1011 plug-in must be installed.

This plug-in enables bTrace to connect and will also be used for bFlash slave files (.sbdc) decoding in WinOLS pretty soon!

bTrace step-by-step instructions

Requirements :

– You must possess a registered and up to date version of WinOLS.

How to establish a live connection?

Step 1 – WinOLS : Open your WinOLS project
Step 2 – bFlash : Go to Measurement > Make a measurement.
Step 3 – bFlash : Select matching datalogging protocol & press continue.
Step 4 – bFlash : Select the variables you wish to review.
Step 5 – bFlash : Press Start to enable connection between car and bLog and display actual data.
Step 6 – WinOLS : Go to Window > Visualizer : click Connection button. [connection status is also visible in bFlash]
Step 7 – WinOLS : Assign available variables to X and Y axis of the map.

 

Stay tuned for our upcoming bTrace Advance Plugin that will allow Live Emulation!
This module will require user provided A2L & compatible ECU.

User Interface Changes

  • The user interface has been completely reworked for a better look and a reduced ram footprint.
  • Tooltips & icons have been added for most buttons making life easier for new users.
  • Pardon my french ? User interface can now be set to French. More languages will soon follow.
  • Keyboard navigation has been improved, especially useful for datalogging with bLog.
  • Interface connection & disconnection status have been enhanced.
  • The protocol selection logic has been improved. It is now possible to see all methods available (OBD/BENCH/BOOT) for a given control unit.
  • New protocols are now shown in the protocol selection menu.

  • A new beta system will make deployment of beta protocols and beta loggers easier.

API Changes

  • Our bFlash hardware API has been reworked to reduce CPU usage and save battery life

bLog Changes

  • Real time data is now displayed during datalogging, as well as minimum and maximum values.
  • Log review module has been rewritten completely for increased performance and more stability.

  • New visualisation mode has been added to the log review module, right click on the graph to discover our new features.
  • A select all/select none has been added to speed up log review.
  • It is now possible to drag & drop bFlash datalog file (.mdf) into the log review module.
  • Export to PDF/Print function has been reworked in the log review module.
  • It is now possible to export a bFlash datalog file (.mdf) to both excel .csv and WinOLS .ObdAnalyser for log replay.

  • Volkswagen-Audi group MG1/MD1 logger has been added.

bFlash Update V1906A – MED9 / EDC16 Bench Mode

MED9 / EDC16 Bench Solution!

A common way to tune or clone Bosch MED9 and EDC16 control units is BDM. This requires to open the ECU, connect to the 14 pin BDM port, proceed, then reseal and close the unit.

Some units also require the board to be flipped to access the BDM port. Well… No more.

At bFlash, rather than releasing another BDM in 2019, we decided to provide our users a modern & innovative solution to work with legacy ECUs :
