This BDM Style probe allows reading/writing of the VAG MED17.5.2 control unit without soldering.
No additional resistors or boot pins are required!
It connects directly to the MPPS OBD cable. It can be used to read/write password over “OBD” communication and also to read/write the IROM/EEPROM memory over Boot Strap Loader mode by the flick of a switch.
LED lights are fitted to the underside of the probe to aid alignment.

Simply connect your MPPS to the ECU with the cable provided, screw the plate to the control unit and align the boot pins with the corresponding pads on the ecu. Then power the ecu and you are ready to read/write!
It is designed to work with controllers using TC1766 and TC1796 processor, this includes:
This kit will not work with controllers using TC1767 or TC1797, however we will offer probes for these controllers soon (e.g EDC17C46, EDC17CP44, MED17.5.2 etc…)

AMT Cartech have been developing flash tools since OBD tuning began, in fact they were responsible for developing the very first known OBD flasher “KWP2000”. The KWP2000 supported ecu’s using the Key Word Protocol 2000 as the name suggests!
