Before allowing operations by Bootloader the ECU must be unlocked. The ECU must be sent to a MMS Service Points and it will be sent back to the customer on the same day by UPS Express. For details consult our MMS Helpdesk Service Requests section.

2.VAG protocols & new functions – available only ONLINE

OBD UNLOCK

Now you can write MOD files to VAG cars without performing TPROT OFF by bootloader.

After performing OBD UNLOCK you can write MOD files in any TPROT5-11 ECU.

OBD READ ENABLED

After performing OBD unlock you can also READ (actual read, not virtual) maps from previously protected ECUs (for example EDC17CP44, C54, C64, MED17.x etc).

 
OBD FLASH COUNTER LOCK Once you have performed OBD UNLOCK you can write MOD files by OBD multiple times without increasing the flash counter. It will always remain the same as before writing the first MOD file.
FRF/ODX write
You can restore your ECU or update it directly by OBD.
Just use a FRF or ODX format file and X17 will upload it to your ECU.

From this update on, IMMO OFF and ECU CLONE services are also available by MMS Helpdesk for these ECUs. To access  these services, the tool has to be connected to our server, the account must be up to date, and the software of the ECU must be available in our system. If some versions are missing, please contact our Tech Support by Ticket. At the moment, 3200 different files are available in our database.
